Clash of Legends 2024

Clash of Legends is a fundraising competition organized by CrossFit Cataclysm. Sometimes in teams, sometimes individually, the goal is to challenge yourself while raising money for a good cause (this year it was the local Boys and Girls Club).

The events included a time-restricted 1 rep max, dozens of weighted box step ups, wall balls, and of course, burpees. It helps a lot to not be dealing with pain and injuries; nobody wants to have to stop halfway or be the one slowing down their team.

It’s always fun to spectate and see the spirit of friendly competition and teamwork, but what makes us happiest is seeing clients participating and kicking ass, even years after they finished their program with us. Any of these Ninjas could have chosen to keep pushing through pain, accepting the limitations, using band-aids to temporarily get rid of or mask it. But they didn’t. They chose to conquer pain.

Shenard

Shenard had pain for almost 10 years and was doing CrossFit to stay in shape, in spite of. He hadn’t participated in in Legends before because sometimes even completing a WOD was tough enough. Since Ninja Physio, he’s lifting heavier weights, and more confident in his movements. So much so, that he decided to join in this year’s competition.

John

For years, John had back pain width deadlifts and sitting, shoulder pain with snatches and overhead movements, and ankle and knee pain with running. Needles to say, the WODs could be pretty painful. After Ninja Physio, he’s been getting through his CrossFit WODs pain free and is more mobile and stronger. Here you can see him hitting a 295lb front squat PR with solid depth.

Megan

Before Ninja Physio, Megan had been having ankle pain when jumping and running for about three months. So in this competition, the burpees wouldn’t have been as fun.

Paul

Paul had knee pain just getting in and out of his car, much less lifting heavy. He tried going to a sports chiro, stretching, foam rolling, and finally a doctor, where they kept mixing up which knee to X-ray. After this, he came to Ninja Physio, did his program, and here he is, over two years later, squatting heavy and doing lots of weighted box step-ups without pain.

Ashley

Ashley had shoulder and back injuries from playing sports in high school that hadn’t fully healed. They were holding back her progress in CrossFit. She did her NP program, took some time off CrossFit to work on some fundamentals, and here she is back at it and hitting mobility and strength PRs.

CJ

CJ had been having pain with overhead movements and kipping. A 50lb dumbbell is light weight for him, but over a year after his program, his shoulders are still pain free and stronger than ever.

Sherry

Prior to NP, Sherry had been dealing with shoulder and hip issues that made it painful to squat, pull up, or reach overhead. But here she is, almost two years after finishing her program, doing lots and lots of wall balls.
