Is it really nerve damage?

Of clients who have seen a doctor prior to Ninja Physio, around half have been misdiagnosed.

One such misdiagnosis has been of “nerve damage.” Different things can cause nerve damage, but some doctors might throw it out there if they can’t figure out what’s really going on.

Here’s a couple of clients who were diagnosed with nerve damage, but after Ninja Physio, were pain free and working out.

Lou Leg "nerve damage"

Being 20 years in the Army, Lou was used to jumping out of airplanes and intense workouts. He injured his back over a decade ago, and got surgery in 2012. Three years later, the back pain was back.

He tried multiple rounds of physical therapy, the chiropractor, massages, and injections, but none provided long term relief. He also tried cryotherapy, and it helped reduce the pain, but his left leg still felt much weaker than his right. He could hardly do calf raises or walk up stairs.

A doctor told Lou that he had nerve damage and would need surgery to possibly fix it. Otherwise, he’d just have to live with it the rest of his life. Having exhausted his options and not wanting another surgery, Lou figured that his athletic days were over and limited his workouts to upper body lifts.

When he first came here, he could hardly lift his left ankle, walk on his tip toes, or do calf raises. Running, jumping, and using weights were pretty much out.

Lou heard about Ninja Physio through his wife, and was skeptical at first, given everything he had already tried. But within four months, he regained significant strength in his leg, even doing single leg box jumps!

Jon "Nerve damage" in his arms

Jon had forearm pain in both arms, which he felt throughout the day. He described it as hot pins going into his arms. It was so bad after his CrossFit workouts, that he would dunk his arms in ice buckets to numb the pain for a while.

The doctor told him it was nerve damage, and didn’t offer any options aside from taking pain pills and stopping CrossFit.

Neither of these were acceptable to Jon, so he just kept managing as best he could. One day, his CrossFit coach told him about the great results he had with Ninja Physio and to check it out.

Within two months, he had no issues with both arms, while still doing CrossFit and lifting heavy things.

In these cases, it’s not that we healed nervous damage; it’s that Lou and Jon didn’t actually have that.

Misdiagnoses are pretty common. Often times, doctors throw out a diagnosis instead of saying that they don’t know what’s going on.  There’s a good chance there’s actually a long-term solution for the pain you’re having.
