Matt

As active as ever without the total hip replacement six doctors said he needed.

Matt started having hip pain that kept getting worse over the course of a year. He got an MRI that showed he had no cartilage in his hips, and six doctors told him that he’d need a total hip replacement.. at 40 years old. Being active his whole life and not wanting the risk and limitations of this type of surgery, he tried the chiropractor, acupuncture, massage, and physical therapy. All of these provided relief for only a few hours to, at most, a day, but it provided hope that there was a non-surgical solution.

About a year into the hip pain, he developed severe sciatica overnight. The pain was so intense he couldn’t use the bathroom or sleep. Three visits to the ER didn’t help. Muscle relaxers had no effect. After a week, he hobbled to the gym to see if he could somehow exhaust his glute and find some kind of relief. That didn’t help, but as luck would have it, we were tabling at the gym where he gave us his contact info on his way out.

Given Matt’s urgent situation, we called the same day to try and schedule him the next day. Skeptical at first, but essentially out of options, Matt scheduled his first session, after which he was finally able to use the bathroom and sleep more. Every session after, he kept improving, eventually being able to do everything he could before the hip pain started over a year ago. He is now working out, snowboarding, coaching three soccer teams, and playing 90-minute soccer games several times a week without pain, and without the total hip replacement.
